Okay. I turned 64 this week. And painted and wood-burned some more gourds. So the profound meaning of this is what? I guess that "even" at 64 I can still DO things - like paint gourds. And other things. Maybe. As long as the eyes and hands behave. Which they have, so far. At 64. At 65, who knows? But, today, at 64 - I'm good. Good.There is a poem with the line, "when I am old, I shall...." - my take on it is, "when I am old, I shall paint gourds...and other things". And thank the good Lord, truly, that I still CAN paint gourds and other things. And still read. And still, and still, and still................as my grandson, Christian, just said to me: "Life is good so far." Life IS good, so far. Amen!
