On August 9th, we will have been married 40 years. Wow! Hardly seems possible....isn't that what everyone says? But, it's true. Some days it seems as if it was just yesterday that we were preparing for our wedding. Now, here it is forty years later, four children later, and eight grandchildren later. :) We've had the same ups and downs as other couples ... surprises, sadness,happiness. But what we've HAD, and STILL HAVE is love. We loved each other forty years ago, and we still love each other. We promised to be faithful to each other forty years ago, and we have been, and will continue to be, faithful to each other now (contrary to popular opinion - fidelity to each other is STILL attainable!). Our hair color has changed, the bodies are drooping and the muscles tire quickly now - it's a good thing LOOKS weren't the only thing we married for ... because that which we loved in each other is still there, and more so, in spite of the aging bodies. We are so blessed to still be with each other; to have each other to grow old with, to share the memories with. We are blessed to still have the other one to "be" with - as we continue on for, who know, another 40 years!: :)
